Going a travelling.
Our travel plans for New York are set. We'll have a solid six days in the city to see family and friends. The car and hotel totalled less than a grand: $450 for the hotel, a Ramada Inn with a restaurant, gym and pool; another $450 for the SUV class from Hertz. We won't be stopping on the way up to New York. I'm driving straight through to get up quickly, but we haven't planned our return trip yet.Kristi and I have talked a lot about moving to the general D.C. area (northern VA or Maryland), so we try to stay there when we go to NY and scout things out to see what we like. Jason recommended we check out Fairfax, which is a short commute to D.C. and isn't as busy as some other places. We really just need to plan a trip up there without the kids, stay in the area for a week and bounce from place to place, figuring out what we want. I'm sure a lot will depend on where we can find work, where there are good schools, in addition to general housing ideas.
